Trip is a strategic and operational leader, who over 25 years, built a successful track record of consulting for and leading large scale operational turnarounds, organization change, strategy formulation, and broad-based innovation for several top tier consumer products companies, including The Coca-Cola Company, The Gillette Company, and Procter and Gamble.
From 2009-2012, he led the Program Management Office for the Global Share Care GBU, where his teams led all new product programs from concept through to in-market execution. The programs launched during this time delivered over $1B of revenue and $500M of NPV. Several examples of programs launched were Fusion Pro-glide, Fusion Styler, Venus Embrace and Olay, and Gillette Guard.
From 2005-2009, Trip led Global Operations for the Blades and Razors Business. He was responsible for managing a $1.6 billion budget, $600 million in inventory, 6400 employees, and delivering best-in-class customer service for all Blades and Razors operations across the globe. During this time, he took a high-performing organization to the next level by redesigning the global manufacturing footprint and implementing lean manufacturing techniques in the 15 factories and packaging centers around the world. These changes increased the level of savings from $60M to $100M per year and set the business up to deliver an additional $340M of NPV from future network restructuring programs. In addition, he led a turnaround in customer service, improving case fill rate from 95% to 98.7%, and he reduced inventory 15%.
From 1994 to 2003, Trip rose from Associate to Partner within the prestigious management consulting firm McKinsey & Company. During this time he led several engagements in the consumer industry that ranged from strategy development, organization design, post-merger management, and operational improvement. In addition, he co-led the Operations Practice with a focus in Manufacturing, which grew from 2 to over 90 associates.
Trip earned his MBA in General Management from the Harvard Business School (1994) and a BS in Chemical Engineering with High Distinction from the University of Rochester (1988). During his free time, Trip renovates homes for fun and likes to spend time with his wife Dawn and two children, Torin and Kaila. He also enjoys cycling and investing.
Paul holds a Ph.D. from the University of Rochester, where he became an expert in catalysis and chemical kinetics. He has previously been successful in developing and improving laboratory and industrial scale processes for CNT production and modification. He is also a recognized expert in the use of carbon nanotube materials in electrical applications. Paul is an avid cyclist.
Ian joined N12 with 20 years of experience in the composites industry, specifically in the automotive, motorsport, marine and latterly defence sectors. An internationally recognized offshore endurance powerboat racer, he holds 11 World Endurance Records and had success at British, European and World Championship levels in racing. He is the former CEO of XS Defence, a producer of high speed light craft for military special operations markets. Home for Ian is situated in one of the UK’s National Parks, The New Forest. Ian spends almost all of his leisure time running around after his teenage children, a daughter who rides horses in Eventing at International level for Norway and a son who races mountain bikes in the UK and USA. Life is, to quote Ian, “manic 24/7, just how we like it.”
Chris is responsible for helping customers get the most out of N12′s composite enhancement products. He holds two degrees from MIT and brings experience in aerospace product development for large OEMs and DoD, as well as composite fabrication and testing. He likes steak.
Dan is an Applications Engineer at N12 Technologies. He received his BSME from the University of Rochester and his MS in the same field from UC Davis. A veteran of several startups, he brings a very diverse set of experiences ranging from aerospace composites fabrication to automated test system design. Outside of work, Dan is a competitive runner as well as an avid skier, surfer and outdoorsman. He loves assembling modular furniture and wishes there was a league to legitimize this activity as a sport.
Chris Dinan manages the production engineering team at N12. He holds a B.S. from UMass Amherst. His interests include robotics and drumming.
Hanna Vincent manages production for N12. She holds an S.B. in Materials Science and Engineering from MIT. She is a competitive sailor.
Ben Bencroft is an Applications Engineer at N12. He works with customers to help integrate N12’s products into their designs. He enjoys hockey and surfing.
Brian’s responsibilities include the manufacturing and machining of a majority of the test specimens that we use to validate CNT properties. He has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Maine. He spends his free time rock and ice climbing.
